How would YOU see the world without sight?

If I were blind but could hear, I would want the world described to me by someone I love — through music. Someone who adores me back. Someone who “gets” me. That is how I’d want the world interpreted if I had no sight.

Silhouettes on a sidewalk spelled L-O-V-E that glorious Adirondacks day, reminding me of the words of Saint Francis of Assisi, founder of the Franciscan order (1181-1226), who said, “Preach the gospel at all times. If necessary, use words.”

Embracing disfigurement

The roasting Myrtle-Beach-like humidity made me opt for a skort as I readied for Pilates. Passing the full-length mirror in my bedroom, I would normally notice the blinding paleness of my sun-starved legs.
